Dollar Store Conspiracy TheoriesIt's Saturday morning at the auto-service shop... and I got nothing but time...Dear Fellow Traveler: Yesterday, I came downstairs to my house to find it in full activity. A friend from Texas and a friend from nearby were over. Kids were running around. There was a lot of… sound. Turns out that one of the two friends is a conspiracy theorist… And I’m not talking the “Did we put a man on the moon” type… But he’s the guy who says… “Look at what’s happening in the world… I’m out of conspiracy theories… so I need some new ones…” And boy… will he tell you… Alternative views of Ukraine, LA Wildfires, chemical fogs, and global financial resets… Me? I don’t really dabble… I assume what I’m looking at half the time isn’t real. I worked in political communications in Washington DC long enough to learn how easy it is to change a national narrative (see the sudden pro-energy shift in America just two weeks after the BP Oil Spill in 2010) or to turn a hero into a villain (and vice versa). Reality… in essence… can become my conspiracy… Now, I know there’s a lot in the news. People are telling me every theory possible about the headlines… and then revisiting everything dating back to… (I don’t want to name any of the popular ones because people will blow up the comments section…) Now, listen. It’s not that I don’t enjoy the conversation… It’s just… First, I’m a guy who’s neck-deep in numbers, trying to understand how markets are structured… and trying to keep my readers’ heads above water in this environment… Second… I’m not really a good conspiracy theorist… A friend will tell me something wild, and I’ll sit there. Not even nodding… Should I respond and agree? Or do I come back with my own theories that he’s never heard of? If it’s the latter… that might be a problem. The problem is that most of my ideas would be dollar-store-level thoughts… minor league baseball compared to the All-Star-level theories shared on podcasts… But that’s not a bad idea… Maybe if I dug deep… dollar-store theories would be a good deflection… And that’s the subject of our conversation today… If you’re like me, and someone corners you with their alternative views about anything big going on, and you need to change the subject… consider these replies… Well… I Heard…
Well… I heard on Fox Business that…
Well… I read on the internet…
Now… I can’t back any of these up… but it should get really quiet… really quickly. Maybe the real conspiracy is the quiet in my house that I’ve been seeking all along… So, What Might I actually believe?I’ve written all this from an auto service dealership over the last hour… I originally started thinking of this article because I went to read something… but all the magazines were from 2020… The original thought was…
Which got me thinking…
The last two are probably true… I’ll be back tomorrow with actual market commentary… Stay positive, Garrett Baldwin About Me and the Money Printer Me and the Money Printer is a daily publication covering the financial markets through three critical equations. We track liquidity (money in the financial system), momentum (where money is moving in the system), and insider buying (where Smart Money at companies is moving their money). Combining these elements with a deep understanding of central banking and how the global system works has allowed us to navigate financial cycles and boost our probability of success as investors and traders. This insight is based on roughly 17 years of intensive academic work at four universities, extensive collaboration with market experts, and the joy of trial and error in research.
