Dear Fellow Traveler: This has been a stressful year. Something out of my control happened that cost me time, energy, and money. And it wore me down. I tried to address it in January, only for it to degenerate, worsen, and really hit a head in August. Then, for four months, it really gnawed. It shifted my personality and stress levels. It impacted my purpose, my goals, and my ability to think clearly when I wasn’t working. The markets became a refuge, a place where I could hide in the chaos. This week, I hit my limit with it all. I had the last word, I forgave, I reassessed, and… came to North Carolina for Thanksgiving. And somewhere along the Blue Ridge Mountains, I stopped thinking about it. This morning… those worries were gone. What I realized - while assessing everything that I did have control over - was that my partners and I have built in the last four months in the shadows of that difficult stretch - was actually what I’d intended to build two years ago… And that it’s actually growing fast, and we have control. It’s all been right here. I was just too hard-headed to realize it… I was thinking too much about what could have been - and not enough about what lies ahead… So, let me be honest that I greatly appreciate the opportunity that I have - and that you’re here, and taking the time to have a conversation with me. I mean this, I’m thankful for our small daily conversations… wherever you are… I’ll also say I’m thankful for Substack and my other partners who have given me a platform to succeed, tell the stories I believe matter so much to this world, and carry on a purpose… And that purpose is “to uncover how markets truly work and translate that knowledge so people can protect themselves, seize opportunity, and think independently in a system that rewards confusion.” That’s not a loud or dramatic statement… It’s the answer to why this work matters to me. Funny, the journey isn’t always the destination… But I’ve been supported by great people, partners, family (my wife is a saint), and friends to take the necessary space to find that purpose. Because… one last thing… I’m thankful for timing and clarity. I’m currently working on two small side projects that center on a few key themes… purpose, legacy, values, and identity. And - where I sit - these projects were sent to me - almost magically - at the right time. Because they’ve gifted me a mentality and approach for 2026… We’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible. And I look forward to continuing this process of helping others see how power and financial systems operate so you can make decisions with clarity, confidence, and agency… I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving… and I look forward to what’s ahead.
