You see, I never actually thought I’d go into finance. In college, I studied political science and economics.  And I knew almost NOTHING about investing, and even less about trading. But after college, I sent out a Hail Mary job application that landed me a job at a billion-dollar financial research firm.  I’m still not really sure how it happened, but somehow I ended up as the junior level guy who would build and test trading strategies. If they were promising, we would license those strategies to individuals or small shops.  I taught myself how to code trading algorithms and I got to use the $25,000 per year Bloomberg Terminal that allowed me to study virtually every financial data point ever created by human beings.  Corn futures in Arkansas… Currency hedges on the Nikkei… Lithium mining results in Australia…or credit spreads on the bond markets…I got to study ALL of it.  It was a tough gig, but it was a one-of-a-kind education. And I used what I learned there  to leave after a few years and start trading on my own.  Which brings us to today.  I’ve been doing this since 2018, and over the course of almost six years, I’ve helped my readers navigate some truly crazy market conditions.  In 2022, I was able to warn my readers about the pending Silicon Valley Bank Collapse — calling it “portfolio poison” and potentially saving them from a 100% loss.   Then just before the AI craze truly erupted, I recommended Palantir to my readers, a stock that is up nearly 700% since then!              It’s safe to say that I’m a market addict.
