Wild Week Has A Silver Lining

Money Is Moving And The Shift Offers Opportunity

Last week it seemed like there was recovery momentum and the sky was the limit but then this week the bottom fell out. It seems like the market is having a Fight Club battle with itself this year and it can really stress your trading approach if you aren’t prepared. The VIX, which forecasts volatility and impacts option pricing, jumped up signaling more wild moves and declines. But don’t miss out the opportunity all of this presents. Bigger moves in the market can be a turbo booster for option trading and have the potential to generate income with the right trades.

How Big Swings Can Be Harnessed for Gains

In recent years it has become much easier to trade the market in any direction. Prices don’t just have to go up to create profitable trades. By looking at the right options trades wins can come from market drops, like we saw this week, which allows trading income to sustain even when the economy gets tough. Plus, tools like ETFs have made these opportunities even more accessible to individual traders. Wendy Kirkland sent out a link to a video earlier that showed how, by using one of the oldest and most active ETFs, traders can produce a “paycheck”. If you missed it you can still access it here

Some profit examples are based on hypothetical or simulated trading. This means the trades are not actual trades and instead are hypothetical trades based on real market prices at the time the recommendation is disseminated. Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. Also, the hypothetical results do not include the costs of subscriptions, commissions, or other fees. Because the trades underlying these examples have not actually been executed, the results may understate or overstate the impact of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity.
