Dear Fellow Traveler: One of my favorite film scenes is early in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Michael Caine explains to Steve Martin that when he was younger… he wanted to be an artist and a painter (which is funny because he ends up being a con-artist instead). He tells Freddie (Martin) that his limitation was a lack of talent… And then… in the most condescending way possible, he insults his American adversary… “What I'm saying is know your limitations…” he says… “You are a moron…” As I ride this Amtrak back to Baltimore… I realize that I didn’t know my limitations… My friends and I went to Phish at Madison Square Garden last night, and I have realized that I’m 44… not 22… I can’t hang… I used to be so much cooler… It was a great show though… and I’m really happy that I decided to go… Amelia loved Wicked… and she and Lisa are already making plans to come back to New York again… The funny thing is that as we return… this moment right now is the highlight of the trip. I have to say that I get to do what I love… which is writing and researching on an Amtrak today. Despite all of the crap that I give our government, I absolutely love Amtrak. I love the trajectory. I love their processed cheese plate. I love the process of idea generation. I’m oddly inspired when I’m on a train… I love to write as I exit New Jersey. It’s a strange little pleasure that I’ve always loved. I would intentionally take the train from Washington to Chicago as well just to write… instead of taking the plane. So… it’s a joy to see the snow, sleet, and rain from this cab… It’s one of my favorite things, and I wanted to share that with you. I’m also sending you this note because this is gonna be a lighter week on the content side… because I’m working on my outlook for 2026. Capital Wave Report readers will receive that on Friday, alongside an F and Graham score list… to trade for the year ahead. I have to get over to my Insider Buying Report update because EDGAR was “closed” from the 24th to the 26th. And then… so you know… I’ll be joining Josh Brown tomorrow at the Compound… I’ll send out a link once we’re live… I hope you all had a great weekend… And I’ll be back with actual insight tomorrow… Stay positive, Garrett Baldwin About Me and the Money Printer Me and the Money Printer is a daily publication covering the financial markets through three critical equations. We track liquidity (money in the financial system), momentum (where money is moving in the system), and insider buying (where Smart Money at companies is moving their money). Combining these elements with a deep understanding of central banking and how the global system works has allowed us to navigate financial cycles and boost our probability of success as investors and traders. This insight is based on roughly 17 years of intensive academic work at four universities, extensive collaboration with market experts, and the joy of trial and error in research.
