I read a fascinating statistic recently. It goes to show how popular cryptocurrencies are becoming. And that all goes to show that we are truly in the Age of Adoption.
Recently I came across an article that I found very interesting.
It was an NBC News poll about the popularity of cryptocurrency, and it found that crypto is pretty popular.
Unsurprisingly, as the subheadline shows, it’s even more popular with younger folks, as 4/10 of people between 18-34 have traded or used crypto.
This interests me, because I think we far too often talk about crypto like it’s still some sort of “fringe” concept.
Like crypto is a fairly unknown investment tool for hackers and nerds on the far reaches of the internet.
But it clearly isn’t true anymore. Cryptocurrency is just about as “mainstream” as it gets. And that’s a very good thing!
You’ve heard me make the point before, so I’ll be brief: as the popularity of and interest in cryptocurrency increases, its value is likely to increase as well.
It’s simple supply and demand.
Right now, we’re firmly entrenched in what I call the “Age of Adoption.”
This poll is just further proof. People aren’t scared of crypto anymore. A lot of people have actively traded or used it. And a lot of other folks who haven’t are still “crypto-curious.”
Where do you rank on the spectrum? Reply to this email and let me know how you feel about crypto.
It’s going to continue to grow and expand. But we’re definitely beyond the “under-the-radar” phase now. And that’s a really positive thing.
