Wall Street logged its worst quarter in two years as Q1 2022 came to a close Thursday — and more in Friday’s stock market recap.
Between high inflation, the Federal Reserve beginning to raise interest rates, and not to mention Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the markets have been whipsawed by new headlines on a daily basis.
However, stock futures started Q2 on a strong note. Employment growth for March came in lower than expected but still strong. Jobs growth for both January and February was also revised up.
But the question on everyone’s mind is whether this market can continue to rise, or if it’s going to stumble.
Bear markets tend to be listless, which isn’t what we’ve been seeing. The amount of volatility we’re experiencing tells me there’s still life left in this market, especially with earnings season just a few weeks away.
