Take a look at this chart… Click here for an in-depth breakdown.    The black line in the middle is the S&P… and the other 11 lines are the sectors that make up the S&P. When the Federal Reserve prints money like they did during the COVID crash (7 TRILLION DOLLARS)… Certain sectors soar like technology, consumer discretionary, and the communication services -  the leaders of the pack. But when the Fed shifts gears and starts raising interest rates, it cools off these leading sectors and they revert back to the mean (the black line).  And look what’s happening to the lagging sectors… Utilities, Staples, and Energy.  They are starting to catch up! Reversion to the mean happens both ways! As soon as the Fed started tightening monetary policy in January - by raising interest rates...  It’s created a massive opportunity to trade the imbalances in the sectors. Just look at how out of whack they are right now compared to the pre-covid crash!
