U.S. stock futures traded higher Friday morning as Wall Street looked to post its first positive week in the past four.
In terms of the economy, both consumer sentiment and new home sales reports came out on Friday. Interest rates are rising, so it shouldn’t be any surprise the consensus was on the lower end of the range…
However, I believe the market has already priced most of that in…
The TLT is now trading back within the range it was before the most recent Consumer Price Index report. This tells me either the broader market is strengthening, or the long bond is taking a wait-and-see approach as a potential recession looms.
If the TLT remains choppy, it’s telling us the long bond is having major doubts that interest rates will go as high as fast as the Federal Reserve has signaled.
I want to highlight a special group of stocks right now that might deserve a spot in your portfolio…
They aren’t all that flashy or sexy, so they don’t get much air time — I’m talking about homebuilders.
These stocks aren’t natural resources, so they don’t benefit from the Russia-Ukraine war. But we still have high inflation and a potential peak in the housing market.
In other words, there are still a handful of factors impacting the housing sector right now…
Which is exactly why I want to bring it to your attention and give away a few homebuilder stocks to start looking at!
P.S. When it comes to trading, every second counts. And in choppy markets like these, often driven by headlines, stocks can make big moves in a flash.
