Premarket action is largely random Tuesday, with retail sales data coming in better than expected.
Retail sales — which makes up two-thirds of the economy — rose 0.7% in September versus expectations of 0.3%.
Overall, earnings are the big driver in market moves.
We have several big names reporting today, including Johnson & Johnson, a few big banks, Lockheed Martin, United Airlines and more.
We turn to large-cap tech tomorrow with Tesla and Netflix.
The S&P 500 (SPY) is currently in the twilight zone between the 100- and 200-day moving averages, and it’s hard to determine where this market will head next.
