The CPI rose 0.4% for September versus expectations of 0.3% The number was 3.7% year over year versus expectations of 3.6%.  Excluding volatile food and energy prices, prices rose 0.3% month over month and 4.1% year over year, both in line with expectations.  The Federal Reserve keeps saying how its measures are working, but inflation is STICKY.  For longs, I’d continue sticking with the most bullish sectors like Communication Services (XLC) and Technology (XLK), and the weakest sectors for shorts, like Utilities (XLU) and Consumer Staples (XLP).
