Records on Monday. Futures red this morning. Make it make sense.
Jensen Huang called Marvell the next trillion-dollar company yesterday, and the stock is up over 22% this morning on the strength of one sentence. |
HPE is up 26% on its best earnings beat since 2018. |
So naturally, futures are red. |
Alphabet is the one getting punished, down after announcing it'll raise $80 billion to fund its AI buildout. |
One analyst put it bluntly: if the best business model in the history of capitalism can't fund AI out of its own pocket, who can? |
That's the whole tape in a nutshell. |
The names ripping are doing it on a quote, while the one name getting punished is the only one actually doing the math on what this buildout costs. |
Don has been saying this rally is thinner than it looks. |
A market that hangs on what Jensen says into a microphone, while the broad index goes nowhere, is not a market built on solid ground. |
He's live at 9:20 am ET to break down the Marvell move, this week's expected move in the S&P, and where the rotation is actually happening underneath the headlines. |
