Ready to set this up? Here’s what Alex does:
| | • | | Pull up a 1- or 5-minute intraday chart of any liquid name (think: SPY, QQQ, or your favorite stock). | | | • | | Overlay the 9-EMA and 20-EMA. | | | • | | Add VWAP as a thick, center-stage line. | | | • | | Look for price to cleanly break below both EMAs and VWAP for a bearish move (go short with puts or futures). For bullish moves, flip it: breakout above = go long. | | | • | | Alex says: “When I get that crossover, that means the trend is solidified, and I stay in, depending on what your profit target is.” |
But Alex doesn’t just blindly jump in—he uses VWAP as a sanity check:
If price is below EMAs and VWAP, he knows the move’s got real juice. If not, he gets patient.
“VWAP is also useful… because you know, if you have the VWAP, you can see how the price is bouncing both below the 9… below the 9, also bouncing below VWAP. You know, if it starts crossing up above… the trend was stronger.”
