NVIDIA’s (NASDAQ: NVDA) stock price did something interesting in early October, rising to a new all-time high. Good MorningU.S. stocks remained uneven as the Nasdaq traded at record levels and the S&P 500 approached its all-time high, while the Dow lagged. Small caps also rose but trailed the tech-heavy Nasdaq. Market leadership remained narrow, with 55 of the Nasdaq-100’s 101 component stocks still below their 50-day moving averages despite the index’s record run. Treasury yields remained elevated, keeping pressure on equity valuations.
AI remained central to trading. Morgan Stanley said a projected U.S. data-center power shortfall could delay parts of the buildout, though NVIDIA and Broadcom’s 2027 forecasts appear relatively insulated from the constraints. Goldman Sachs separately said its U.S. data-center growth outlook through 2027 remains largely intact. NVIDIA reached another all-time high, while investors continued to scrutinize the large capital and financing needs behind hyperscalers’ AI spending.
Deal activity drove several individual names. Schneider Electric agreed to acquire PTC in a deal valuing PTC’s equity at approximately $22.6 billion, sending PTC shares sharply higher while Schneider fell. GE HealthCare announced a $945 million acquisition of SOFIE Biosciences, and Advanced Drainage Systems agreed to buy StormTrap for approximately $530 million. DraftKings rallied after a Bank of America upgrade, while General Motors confirmed plans to add hybrid vehicles to its U.S. lineup as demand for hybrids rises. Marc Chaikin, the 60 year Wall Street veteran whose Chaikin Money Flow indicator sits on every Bloomberg terminal, says a new micro cluster AI technology could render today's data centers, including Elon Musk's Colossus in Tennessee, obsolete for major breakthroughs.
These next generation centers use 99 percent less space, electricity and water, yet Chaikin's research shows they could be more than a trillion times more powerful than the top data center on earth today, potentially cutting AI breakthrough timelines from five years to five days. |

Datadog (NASDAQ: DDOG) insiders raised a red flag in Q3 by selling shares en masse, creating a market headwind. However, the insider selling isn’t necessarily bad news, as most sales were triggered by prearranged 10b5-1 trading plans, and there were some extenuating circumstances. DDOG shares have ... For the past month, the stock market has been running on a single cylinder. As of Friday, technology was the only sector pushing to new all-time highs, while the rest of the market, including the S&P 500 itself, lagged. That is the very definition of poor market breadth, where only a single or ... Read the Full Story |

Should I Buy Coinbase Global Stock? COIN Bull and Bear Case ExplainedThese insights were generated using artificial intelligence. They are based on proprietary MarketBeat data, news articles, and custom LLM A.I. algorithms. This analysis of Coinbase Global was last updated on Tuesday, October 06, 2026 at 1:05 AM. Coinbase Global Bull Case
- Coinbase Global, Inc. is currently trading at $188.22, which is significantly below the consensus price target of $222.97 set by twenty investment analysts who have rated the stock with a Buy rating, suggesting potential upside for investors who believe the market is undervaluing the company's position in the crypto economy.
- The company has strengthened its institutional business through an expanded partnership with Citigroup, which supports stablecoin payments and Coinbase Virtual Accounts, linking Coinbase’s digital-asset infrastructure with Citi’s banking network to facilitate institutional stablecoin payments.
- Regulatory tailwinds are improving as the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) withdrew proposed rules regarding crypto-mixing and self-custody reporting, while the Fairshake PAC, backed by Coinbase, is supporting 32 House candidates who voted in favor of the CLARITY market-structure bill, potentially creating a more favorable legislative environment.
- Bitcoin strength is supporting crypto-exchange stocks, with the asset approaching $87,000 near its late-September high, and improving U.S. demand indicated by the Coinbase Premium Index is favorable for trading activity and transaction revenue for Coinbase Global, Inc.
- Bank of America raised its Coinbase price target to $203 while maintaining a Buy rating, providing a positive valuation signal and indicating that major financial institutions see value in the company's digital-asset platform despite recent earnings misses.
Coinbase Global Bear Case
- Coinbase Global, Inc. has missed analyst earnings estimates in each of the last three quarters, with the most recent quarter reporting ($1.36) earnings per share (EPS) compared to a consensus estimate of ($0.44), indicating persistent challenges in meeting financial expectations.
- The company has a negative P/E ratio of -49.02, which reflects that it is currently unprofitable on a trailing twelve-month basis, making it a riskier investment compared to peers like Intercontinental Exchange that have stronger projected growth and positive valuations.
- Leadership instability is a concern as Chief Accounting Officer Jennifer Jones plans to retire, extending a period of leadership changes that follows Coinbase’s reported 14% workforce reduction, which may impact operational continuity and strategic execution.
- A proposed stablecoin backed by Visa, Mastercard, Stripe and Coinbase could increase competition in the market, potentially challenging Coinbase’s existing USDC-related economics while creating new distribution opportunities that may dilute its market share.
- Short interest has increased, with 25,234,463 shares shorted as of the latest record date, representing a short percentage of float of 11.48%, indicating that a significant portion of investors are betting against the stock's price appreciation.
