Good MorningU.S. stocks were mixed Monday as the Dow advanced while the Nasdaq fell, with weakness in semiconductor-related names including Micron and Seagate. Amazon gained, while Lumentum and Marvell Technology declined following Marvell's announcement of a $115 billion acquisition of Lumentum. Investors are also watching upcoming reports from Arm, The Trade Desk, NuScale and quantum-computing companies after steep October declines in the sector.
Falling oil prices provided a lift to airline shares, offering relief from fuel-cost pressure for carriers such as Delta and JetBlue. Energy stocks were weaker, however, with several oil producers and offshore drillers declining. Cheniere Energy reported a third-quarter earnings miss tied to higher costs, although revenue beat expectations and the company highlighted record cargo exports and higher guidance.
Earnings reactions remained selective. IDEXX Laboratories surged after beating third-quarter estimates and raising full-year guidance, while Krystal Biotech posted an earnings beat and 30% revenue growth but its shares slipped. Starbucks fell after missing revenue expectations amid declining sales tied largely to its China-business transition. Investors are also weighing renewed concerns around CoreWeave, while CrowdStrike expanded its AI-integration partnership with the company.
