Grabbing what seem like great bargains only to have them whipsaw them into a huge loss. Ironically, it is that same herd mentality that is wiping out the accounts of the uniformed that is producing huge wins over and over for savvy traders who know how to exploit the crowd.

When the crowds chase each other around the room, they can quickly push a stock into oversold status as they jump to the next desperate grab. This pattern is actually distinct and with the right indicators can be spotted on a chart without complicated systems.
