Good MorningU.S. markets digested July inflation data showing inflation cooling to 3.4%, while investors reassessed the interest-rate outlook. Technology stocks were mixed, with Microsoft, Meta, Tesla, and Palantir under pressure at times, even as AI infrastructure remained a major source of market enthusiasm. Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies were largely range-bound following the report.
AI-related names continued to command attention. Nebius surged roughly 30%, extending a powerful year-to-date rally, while CoreWeave and other neocloud companies benefited from infrastructure demand. Oracle gained following a partnership with Quantinuum, and IBM landed a $240 million AI-cloud deal with Together AI. NVIDIA’s older A100 chips also appeared to retain value through a CoreWeave customer contract extending through 2029.
Earnings and corporate updates drove individual movers. Cisco reported record fourth-quarter and fiscal 2026 results, citing broad demand and a networking supercycle. Resideo posted record quarterly revenue and gross margin, while Velo3D raised its 2026 revenue outlook after a second-quarter revenue beat. Deal activity included PTC Therapeutics’ planned acquisition of ST-920, a BLA-stage Fabry disease gene therapy, and AEVEX’s agreement to acquire BlackSea Technologies.
