This Industry Could Prevent the Collapse of Civilization

Mauricio Marin's lungs couldn't work on their own...
A severe COVID-19 infection had put the 44-year-old in the hospital. He needed a breathing machine to stay alive.
Because of the hospital-bed shortage, Marin was discharged before he fully recovered. Doctors gave him a plug-in breathing machine and two portable oxygen tanks.
Marin got home just in time to hunker down for the storm...
A polar vortex was pushing through the Richmond, Texas area – southwest of Houston.
It was the beginning of Winter Storm Uri.
Marin and his wife Daysi were ready for brief, rolling blackouts. They figured they would lose electricity for 45 minutes – or maybe an hour. That seemed manageable.
The power cut out on the evening of February 14, 2021... and Marin's breathing machine went silent.
He plugged in the first portable tank. Then he did some math in his head...
Two tanks. Six hours of air.
Marin laid down and tried to slow his breathing. He needed to make every breath count. And the power still hadn't come back by the time he started the second tank.
For the next two days, Marin struggled to breathe and stay warm. But he still didn't want to risk going out in the ice to go back to the hospital.
Eventually, Marin turned to Daysi and said...
Honey, at least I'm going to die with you and my kids and not alone at the hospital.
In a stroke of luck, a neighbor showed up at his door on February 17 with an oxygen tank.
Marin certainly ended up being one of the lucky ones...
That week, versions of his story played out across Texas.
February 2021 marked the worst energy infrastructure failure in Texas history. More than 4.5 million homes and businesses lost power – some for days.
Officially, nearly 250 people died from the storm. However, some estimates put it closer to 700.
Regardless of what the actual number is, it's a terrible toll. And it could have been even worse...
Millions of investors could be just days away from a wave of devastating losses. Marc Chaikin is now forecasting a 92% chance of a midterm-election market event hitting the U.S. stock market BEFORE Election Day, based on a CENTURY of market data. He's preparing an urgent briefing with fellow market veteran Louis Navellier to share why this is the biggest event of its kind in more than 30 years. Sixty-year Wall Street legend Marc Chaikin has discovered a fatal flaw built into Elon Musk's AI model and every AI frontier model on Earth... and says the race to fix it could send one obscure stock soaring. Right now, behind a high-security fence in rural Tennessee, the U.S. government is quickly working to solve it by building a new form of AI – what Marc calls "Sovereign AI." He believes it could trigger a $248 trillion boom, 56X bigger than today's AI market. Click here for the full story and the name and ticker of Marc's No. 1 stock to buy now, 100% free.
Preventing Total Collapse
You see, the entire Texas electrical grid had actually come within minutes of collapsing completely.
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, the state's grid operator, testified that the grid was just 4 minutes and 37 seconds away from total failure... which would have left parts of Texas dark for months.
Now, Texas did have its share of industrial battery banks. As you would expect, these were meant to protect the state from this exact kind of crisis.
For a while, those systems did their job. They provided a bridge between when the power grid failed and the time when backup generators could start.
But unfortunately for Texas, the batteries weren't big enough. They didn't have enough backup power. And the energy they did have was drained in a few hours.
The consequences were severe...
Cell towers went dark. That left millions of Texans unable to call for help or receive emergency alerts.
Hospitals ran on emergency power. But they struggled to admit patients. Ambulance providers couldn't keep up with the calls coming in.
The backup infrastructure was there. It just wasn't enough.
That's the main lesson from the destruction that Winter Storm Uri caused...
Folks, our electrical grid can't survive a disastrous storm without a hidden layer of stored energy holding it together.
Now, we're moving into the AI age. And as you've probably heard time and time again, it's poised to drive power consumption through the roof.
But we're still using the same aging, fragile grid.
In short, we're going to need a ton of backup power.
Every AI data center will need to keep fully charged industrial batteries on-site.
Every 5G cell tower needs reserve power so we don't see a repeat of the failures in Texas.
The same goes for every hospital, 911 center, and broadband hub.
Put simply, backup systems are the key to preventing civilization as we know it from collapsing.
Our most important facilities need the same thing Mauricio Marin did that February night – a bridge between when the power stops and when it comes back.
So you'd think the industry that produces the equipment needed to produce that hidden layer would be booming...
Unfortunately, this isn't the case right now. The Power Gauge rates 90 stocks in this industry, and only 18 get "bullish" ratings...
That means our system sees this as a weak industry right now.
Despite this, those 18 stocks are worth taking a closer look at.
If officials increase funding to improve our aging electrical system – those are the stocks you'll likely want to own.
Good investing,
Marc Chaikin
